Mr.Sandeep (male)

1. When did you come to Japan? And what country did you come from?
The day I first came to Japan was nearly about 2 years ago on 28th ofAugust, 2008 and I joined SY System TEAM from the 1st of September.I am from Nepal, a small himalayan country in South Asia.

2. What is your field of study? Describe briefly.
I graduated in the Bachelor of Computer Engineering from KathmanduEngineering College, Tribhuwan University in year of 2006.This field of Engineering was mainly focussed on Computer Architecture, Electronics, Software Engineering, Software Design, and Engineering Ethics. The breadth of disciplines studied in Computer Engineering was not limited to the above subjects, but also included subjects like Mathematics, Operating Systems, DigitalSignal Processing, Microprocessors, Computer Networks,Digital Communication and even English Language.

3. Before coming, what was your perspective about working in Japan? (Was it uneasy?)
Before coming to Japan, I was very excited because Japan is one of the most developed countries and it was one of the best opportunities for me to be a true IT Professional. I always had the confidence in me about my work but my main fear was the Japanese Language, which is still proving to be my toughest test everyday. It was a little uneasy though, because I had to leave my family and friends.

4. Has your sense of values changed since you came to Japan? Cite some instances.
Yes it has changed to some extent. I now understand the true value of "TIME" and "every PENNY I earn". I also respect the Japanese more, for their immense hard work, and devotion to their work. And, I am now more serious about my own life, family and my responsibilities.

5. Tell us your impression on working with us.
Well, Working in SY Systems has been a roller coaster ride till now. I have experienced good days and bad days. But it has taught me many valuable lessons of life. This is Life, you got to face every challenge coming your way and just keep going on. And I am also very happy and glad to have so many of my colleagues and senior managers who has helped me a lot from my very first day in Japan. I sincerely want to thank everyone who have been supporting me all the time.

But besides that, it also covered other subjects too like Statistics, Mathematics and Business Management. In the final year, I was more into the project related to the web development which later guided me to enhance my career in web programming and designing.

3. Before coming, what was your perspective about working in Japan? (Was it uneasy?)
Before coming to Japan, I always knew that it will be difficult for me at the beginning because of the language and the cultural environment.
But, at the same time I had in my mind that this could be one of my chances to establish myself as a professional System Engineer and explore this beautiful and wonderful country.
So, without any hesitation, I accepted this chance offered by SYSystem.

4. Has your sense of values changed since you came to Japan? Cite some instances.
Yes, there have been changes in some aspects of my life since I came here to Japan.
Besides exploring the culture and environment of this beautiful country, I even got introduced to the system that works around here in Japan.
It's really amazing to see how most of the things are so much systematically working around yourself. Besides that, it's really fascinating to learn the level of discipline and the dedication the Japanese people have towards their work.

5. Tell us your impression on working with us.
With working level, language and the environment being completely different compare with that to Nepal, I faced a lot of difficulties while I was involved in my first project.
But, as time passed on, I started to make progress in my Japanese language and programming language with support and help from my seniors and colleagues. That is why now, I am slowly getting used to the environment here. So, I am always thankful to SYSystem who gave me this wonderful opportunity to work with them helping me enhance my career in the IT sector and fulfill my dream of being a professional System Engineer.
